Avatar UDP/IP Thin Stack
This product is primarily designed to be a small and efficient
"thin" stack which provides UDP over IP services. This
product will not route between interfaces.
Key Benefits
- Small, fast, and efficient
UDP/IP stack written entirely in ANSI "C".
- Provides User Datagram
Protocol (UDP) layer interface for SNMP or other
applications. UDP services conform to RFC 768.
- Provides Address Resolution
Protocol services per RFC 826 for Internet Address to
hardware address mapping.
- Responds to Internet Control
Message Protocol (ICMP) echo (ping) requests per RFC 792
for reachability testing.
- Can be configured to use
Reverse Address Resolution Protocol (RARP) per RFC 903 to
discover its own IP address using a RARP server.
- Can be configured to use
Boot Protocol (BOOTP) per RFC 951 to discover its own IP
address using a BOOTP server. Support for CMU or RFC 1048
style vender specific information to determine the
network subnet mask.
- Can use ICMP Netmask Request
protocol to determine the network subnet mask.
- Supports packet
fragmentation and reassembly.
- Very flexible with many
compile time options for customization.
- Simple and efficient API
with only 8 function calls total. Complete man pages,
porting guide, and example programs provided.
