One of the oddest and most dangerous creatures yet discovered on Pandora. At the sense of prey, the creature will cock its neck back ready to strike. In unusual fashion, the slinger will then snap its neck forward and completely detach its dart-like head from its body as it flies toward its prey. Once the venomous head penetrates its target, it emits a high-pitched noise for the body to follow. The head and body reconnect using an internal kuru. The two parts of the slinger are actually a parent and child in a symbiotic relationship. Once the head is fully grown, it detaches and mates. It then metamorphoses into a smaller slinger, with its own offspring head. Unable to feed, the original parent body dies.
