Jake Sully leads the Resistance against the RDA occupation of Pandora. When the RDA returned to the Western Frontier, Jake put Alma Cortez in charge of Resistance efforts in that region.

Alma, together with other former-RDA scientists and soldiers, works to oppose the RDA's colonization and exploitation of Pandora. United by their passion for science, the group has a moral opposition to the destruction of the land and ecosystems, and the loss of Na’vi lives. Some of them also want to protect their own new way of life on the moon - away from Earth, which human greed has left nearly uninhabitable. The Resistance does not want the same fate to befall Pandora. Their ultimate goal is the permanent expulsion of the RDA.
