As the youngest of the Sarentu children, Teylan's memories start at TAP. As he grew older, he developed an affinity for human science and technology. By far the best of the Sarentu students, his passion was rewarded by Mercer, which further separated him from the rest of the Sarentu kids. Mercer groomed him into feeling special, but was quick to withdraw affection if Teylan ever showed interest in Na'vi culture.

After Teylan was woken from cryosleep, he was recovered by the Resistance. Now based in their HQ, he helps as much as he can if that means ensuring humans are not in danger. He enjoys his new human home, as he finds little comfort in wild Pandora.
