The Valkyrie Shuttle is the last leg in the journey from Earth to Pandora. It is a Trans Atmospheric Vehicle (TAV), a class of vehicle that can carry cargo and passengers from orbit to surface and back again with ease thanks to its advanced hull and engines. The fuselage is composed of an immensely strong, non-metallic composite which weighs less than a quarter of the permalloys in comparable models. Similarly, its superstructure leverages carbon nanotube composite in essential locations to help maximize stability and conserve fuel consumption.

On inbound flights, the Valkyrie may be loaded with any combination of personnel, supplies, and specialized electronic equipment for scientific or military purposes. The true strength of the Valkyrie, however, is shuttling large amounts of refined unobtanium back to an orbiting ISV for transport to Earth. At full burn, the Valkyrie can travel from surface to orbit in less than ten minutes thanks to a powerful, dual-mode fusion engine. Once in orbit, it takes an additional six hours to maneuver and dock with the ISV for offloading.

During the Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains, Colonel Miles Quaritch attempted to use a Valkyrie shuttle as an impromptu bomber to raze the Tree of Souls. The shuttle was ultimately stopped short by Jake Sully, before it could drop its payload of mining explosives.
