The Olangi Clan inhabited the Plains region near the original Omatikayan Hometree. Like the other clans of the Plains, the Horse Clan was known for its prominent focus on the Direhorse of Pandora. It was less known for its bravery, a bravery which ultimately led to tragedy in the end.

As the only Plains clan to answer Toruk Makto’s call, The Olangi rode to battle against the RDA forces in the Battle of the Hallelujah Mountains to find themselves fiercely outmatched by the RDA’s ground forces. The clan was nearly wiped out during the battle, and the remaining survivors would eventually integrate with the Omatikaya near the ruins of Hell’s Gate.

Despite the tragedy and his own personal scars, the Olangi Olo’eyktan Akwey remains a steadfast supporter of Jake Sully. Despite losing most of his people, including his only son, to their fateful confrontation with the RDA, Akwey does not blame Jake for his own choices. Instead, he shares the same understanding about the RDA. They will be back, and when they return, he will find his chance to avenge his clan alongside Jake.
