A young, distinguished hunter and consistent member of Jake’s warparty, Tarsem is a trusted confidante in Jake Sully’s guerilla insurgency against the returning RDA forces. When the Recombinant squad, including a resurrected Miles Quaritch, begin hunting the Sully family, Jake transfers his authority to Tarsem. In a ceremony at the Tree of Souls, Tarsem symbolically kills Jake, scratching the Olo’eyktan’s chest with his blade and thus becoming the new Olo’eyktan of the Omatikaya clan.
