The Tawkami Clan are peaceful and renowned botanists, commanding a strong understanding of the flora of their home rainforest biome and how to use a variety of plants to distill various elixirs and salves. Tawkami botanical alchemy is known to heal wounds, cure illness, assist in spiritual guidance and even direct the behavior of certain animals. They are intelligent, bold, and intellectual. The Tawkami are highly in tune with their environment out of a deep desire to know Eywa through the natural world.

In the story of the first Toruk Makto, the Tawkami play an essential role. A young Tawkami named Tsyal would cross paths with Entu and Ralu of the Omatikaya on their journey to save their hometree from an impending calamity. In direct defiance of her olo’eyktan and father, Tsyal would steal her clan’s sacred artifact, The Tranquil Seed, and join Entu and Ralu on their quest. Through the unique properties of The Tranquil Seed, Tsyal would ultimately go on to help Entu become the first Toruk rider, inspiring generations of Na’vi legend.
