Entok
Entok is a veteran hunter from the Anurai Clan. Among his family history are many skilled hunters and trackers, and Entok reveres their traditional hunting methods as sacred. While he holds the respect of many of the young Na’vi hunters for his undeniable skill, and would teach his methods to those who are willing to learn them, many youngsters, including his own daughter Kiralu, see his hunting customs as antiquated and pointless. Similarly unimpressed, Entok scoffs at the abilities or feats of the younger generation, critical of their lack of discipline and disregard for tradition.
When So’lek arrived at the Anurai Clan for the second step on the Path of the Promiser, it was Entok who begrudgingly tutored So’lek in the ways of the Anurai. To begin his training, the old Na’vi took So’lek to choose a Thanator bone in order to learn to craft his own flute. He taught So’lek how to use the various Anurai shaping tools in his craft.
Entok’s methods were slow, unyielding. He and So’lek clashed over So’lek’s expectations for how quickly he would complete this step in the Path of the Promiser, and the elder Na’vi would frequently leave So’lek unsupervised in his task. After an encounter with a wounded Thanator in the forest, So’lek was inspired to complete his flute in patience and silence. When So’lek showed the flute to Entok, the old Na’vi called the work clumsy, but functional.
Later, Entok would seek out So’lek in the forest while he continued to care for the Thanator. The Na’vi said nothing, but demonstrated a tune on his flute that appeared to placate the wounded beast. So’lek would practice this tune and ultimately use it to make his bond with the Thanator. After this achievement, Entok would finally demonstrate his respect for So’lek, albeit in his own way.
