Known by the Na’vi as fwampop, this intelligent, pig-like animal has a calm disposition and is easily trained. The tapirus is one of the only domesticated animals that have found a life with the Na'vi. They can normally be found leisurely scuttling around the base of a Home Tree or other clan dwelling on their stubby legs, rooting about with their sensitive whiskers for dropped food and other insects and vegetation. Its back has protective armored plates, but its short stature makes it easy prey for Pandora’s larger predators.
