A smaller relative of the rivernox centipede, one might think that the neoteni centipede would find itself at odds with the larger predator. However, both species of centipede coexist in the swampland environment through means of a developed symbiotic relationship. The smaller neoteni centipede attracts hungry fish searching for easy prey, enabling the larger rivernox centipede to turn hunter into hunted. Through this, the neoteni finds sufficient sustenance with little competition.

The neotenipede is hardly helpless, however, with armored scales and venomous claws, which are fatal to smaller prey. For larger animals and Na’vi, the neotenipede sting is painful but not fatal.
