As the unexpected child of Dr. Grace Augustine’s dormant avatar, Kiri feels a natural connection with Grace that cannot be explained by anything but instinct. Kiri has taken to wearing Grace’s necklace as a way of expressing this bond.

Grace’s necklace was hand-crafted during her time with the Omatikaya clan, prior to the destruction of her school. Even during the period of increased tensions, before Jake Sully’s integration with the Na’vi and the reopening of diplomatic lines, she proudly wore the necklace as a reminder of her time among the Omatikaya. Fitting, then, that she would wear it even to her death, and that her daughter would inherit it as her own reminder of a woman who loved Pandora and its people in her own unique way.
